Cyber-Bastards is warband based on the forces of the 74th Grand Battalion, in the Post-Heresy era.
After suffering heavy losses during the Siege, Diomed Ulixes and the 74th Grand Battalion retreated from Terra on the barge "Iron Logic" and lost in a warp storm.
They found a way out into real space and found that they lost in time. The Iron Cage happened, the Iron Warriors relocated to the Eye of Terror.
Arriving on Medrengard, the 74th fell into the heat of an endless battle between the most powerfull Warsmiths of the 4th Legion.
After a confrontation with other high-ranking officers, Diomed broke the connection with the legion, not wanting to waste time in civil strife and began to look for ways to restore the losses and regain the former power of the Grand Battalion.
He made a deal with the Emerald Master. For using the resources and knowledge of the Master, Diomedes was obliged to conquer the imperial world of Kuru-9 for the Emerald Forge.
The main problem of the 74th was the lack of a gene-seed, and Techmarine Zetes found an alternative solution. He began to grow his clones. But due to the lack of sophisticated equipment, medicines and warp-interference, the clones turned out to be mutilated, defective and not combat-ready. But instead of giving up, the mad Zetes began to augment his creations. That's how Cyber-Bastards was born.
Despite their condition, the Cyber Bastards were the only possible solution for the Grand Battalion. They retained the Iron Will and the mad genius of Zetes. Each of them is a well-trained and experienced Techmarine. They independently maintain and modify their cyber-bodies, representing a dangerous force for any potential enemy.
After seven thousand years in real space, Diomed Ulixes and the 74th Grand Battalion have returned with new terrifying forces, in the name of new conquests. Iron within, iron without. The boundary between the machine and the flesh was erased. Every step they take is the result of complex calculations and maniacally complex logistics. Everything must be calculated...
